As part of our ongoing commitment to good governance and transparency, the current Constitution has undergone a thorough review. A draft of the revised Constitution is now available for members to review in advance of its proposed adoption at the upcoming Annual General Meeting, scheduled for Friday, 4 July 2025.
We encourage all members to read the draft and provide any feedback ahead of the AGM. Your engagement is vital to ensuring that our governing document continues to reflect the values and needs of our organization.
The Local Government Authorised Persons Association (“LGAPA”) Strategic Plan 2020 - 2028 (“the Plan”) establishes our agenda and provides direction to ensure that Executive Members work towards achieving our purpose in “Developing and Supporting Authorised Officers1 to achieve professionalism and excellence in service provision”. Please read the LGAPA Strategic Plan below:
This comprehensive and practical resource represents a significant opportunity to advance the professionalism of Authorised Persons and reflects the ever evolving and changing landscape we operate within. Please see the link below to read the APA Professional Development Framework.
The APA Committee applied for grant funding from the LGA Research and Development Fund to develop an updated Local Government Authorised Persons Professional Framework.
The original framework was developed around 16 years ago and we wanted to update it reflecting the significant changes in responsibility that have occurred through legislative review over the last 15 years.
We engaged Health Environs to develop the document.
The Professional Framework:
Describes the role and scope of an Authorised Person
Helps to define the professional standards and education, training and development needs applicable to Authorised Persons
Encourages professional bodies to deliver training and development opportunities relevant to the sector.
